Red Sauce Pasta

So, if you've been awesome and following the videos and this space, you might remember that I said something about not adding too many stories...

If your eyes are working alright and you've already scanned this page, you'll have realized that my definition of 'too many' is somewhat arbitrary - but don't worry! I've got a whole 'scribbles' section for just that, and I believe in your competence to head over there if you want something more weighty to read.

So instead I've decided to throw in something absolutely random, but kind of fun - the different types of pasta!

C'mon.

You know you've seen all these shapes, not known their specific names, a probably not bothered to commit them to memory, if you did ever look 'em up. Turns out there's about sixty-five million more types that I had no idea even existed, but let's just keep it to the ones we've seen in this lifetime, yeah?

Now, onto the heart of the matter:

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • 3-4 cloves of garlic (minced)

  • Half a green chilli (or more, if you're a masochist who's developed ungodly amounts of tolerance through repeated exposure)

  • 1/2 tsp Oregano

  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

  • 1 tsp Red chili powder

  • 3 blended tomatoes

  • 1 tsp ketchup

  • Coriander (pro tip: this makes everything better)

  • Cheese (optional, but really...)

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 cups boiled penne pasta (or any pasta, because we don't believe in discrimination of any form, least of all your chosen form of carb heaven)

Instructions

  1. On a medium flame, put the oil in a wok (or whatever sufuria it is you use) to heat

  2. Add the garlic, green chilli and 1/4 tsp oregano

  3. Then add the blended tomatoes,1 tsp ketchup, salt, black pepper, red chilli powder and 1/4 tsp oregano.

  4. Let this sauce cook for 15 minutes or until the tomatoes are well cooked and the oil rises as a separate layer.

  5. Then add your boiled pasta and mix it up.

  6. Add some cheese if you'd like to (you probably do, trust me).
